Join the South Australian Maritime Museum in an immersive day experiencing Port Adelaide’s rich heritage. For only $50 per person you can secure your place on our morning tour of the Torrens Island Quarantine Station, only accessible via the Maritime Museum’s tour. The station was built in 1879 to stop diseases coming into the country. The Quarantine Station can reveal a tale or two about the final leg of a migrant’s journey to South Australia. Our guided 90 minute guided tour leads you through the landing and decontamination area, the isolation hospital and morgue.
If you are declared fit and well following your stint in quarantine, reward yourself with a cruise on board historic ST Yelta. The Yelta Port River cruise allows you to view Port Adelaide in a way few people have, during a 2 hour scenic river cruise. Go back in time and experience the age of steam on board South Australia’s last working steam tug.
