Home has multiple histories.
A workshop on cartographies of home, including a Port River heritage tour on the MV Archie Badenoch, and an exclusive gallery tour of the exhibition, Scenes from the South, tracking the routes and landmarks that comprise the spaces and places we call home.
What names, and in what language, do we think of the coastline, city and country in which we live?
Using historical maps and photographs from South Australia and beyond, participants will chart their own journeys and home spaces, reactivating family archives and itineraries.
The workshop will be led by Dr Adam Paterson (Manager Curatorial, History Trust of SA) and guest curators Dr Kai Easton (University of Adelaide) and David Ishaya Osu (University of Adelaide).
Suggested items to bring to the workshop:
Family photographs/archives/maps/objects (3-5 small items)/a notebook & pen/camera or phone.
