Bruny Island, Van Diemen's Land
13 January 1802 - 19 February 1802
Fertile Van Diemen's Land delights Baudin's savants and they enthusiastically collect and study its diverse flora and fauna. While their encounters with the Nuenonne people are unpredictable, there are moments of genuine exchange. When they sing to an Aboriginal woman Arra-Maïda, she responds with a song of her own.
