Pierre Bernard Milius is promoted to Citizen Commander of Géographe and steers the valuable scientific haul safely to Table Bay at the Cape of Good Hope. He supplements the Australian collection with African specimens including a lion, gnu and zebra and sends the naturalists to draw among the Khoikhoi people.
