Depart Le Havre, France
19 October 1800
The citizens of Le Havre give Géographe and Naturaliste a rousing farewell. ‘May the memory that I keep of this moment apprise them of how moved I was by their expressions of friendship’ writes Baudin. Soon after, the ships are stopped in the English Channel by an English frigate checking passports.
